BREAST RECONSTRUCTION PATIENT- NOT A “REAL” NIPPLE!

This amazing patient had a breast reconstruction with Dr Phoon following breast cancer.
Her first procedure was a microsurgical Bipedicle DIEP breast reconstruction for her right breast, using tissue from her belly.
The tummy tissue is attached to blood vessels inside the chest, in front of the heart using a
microscope connecting 2mm sized blood vessels.
A bipedicled DIEP flap is sometimes used when both sides of the abdominal pannus are needed to create a breast of sufficient volume.
