Old School Runescape Hunter Guide

It is the Hunter Skill is one of the more complex non-combat abilities in OSRS. It offers amazing adventures and objectives. This is the newest feature in OSRS as well as plenty of creatures to hunt down in a variety of locations around Gielinor.

This is why the best methods to level 99 and get the skill cape aren't clear to many players. Luckily for you, we are back with our OSRS Hunter's Guide 1-99 to help you to get started. Follow these instructions, and you should be able to hit 99 If you're perseverant.

What should I do to Start Using This OSRS Hunter Guide?

Fairy Ring Transport (gained by the start of Fairy Tale II quest and highly recommended)

An unassuming fishing net

Rope

Bird Snare

Box trap

Butterfly nets and Butterfly jars

Level 1-9

You don't need to search any further than to the Varrock Museum and the Natural History Quiz for the beginning levels. The quiz is administered by Natural historians working in the museum. You can speak to Orlando Smith to get started. Afterward, you must answer three questions related to each show correctly in order to win.

This technique is not just enjoyable but is also simple if you have some trivia knowledge (or Google). It will also give you some Slayer experience, which is an excellent perk. When you've finished all the requirements, you can talk to Orlando to ask him a few more questions.

Alternate: Level 1-7

People who are anxious about quizzes or have trained Slayer already can start training Hunter by hunting Polar Kebbits. They are found in the northeast of Rellekka within a Snowy Hunter area. There are several ways to reach them. One are the Camelot teleport or a Fairy Ring code. You can use a Ring of Pursuit to speed your leveling, if you have one.

Alternate: Level 7-15

Continuing from Polar Kebbits (or from the Varrock Museum quiz), you can start hunting Feldip Weasels. This is more efficient than catching some birds, as described within the section on Level 9-15 of this tutorial. Get to the Feldip Hunter area by using an Ring of Dueling Castle Wars or the Gnome Glider.

Level 9-15

If you have access to the Fairy Ring transport system (you will really need to use it in order to improve this ability) you can use your code "akq" to head to the area of Piscatoris Hunter. There's a chance to catch Copper longtails here until level 15 - and it's fairly slow to begin but keep going as it's just 6 levels.

Between 15 and 33 (or 37)

Go back to the bank, swap your bird snares for butterfly nets and jars after which you can return to Piscatoris. The next time, you're searching for an Ruby harvest butterfly spawning spot. Place yourself next to it to catch butterflies. There's nothing else to it.

This can be a bit tedious however, so you can hold off the stagnation by catching both butterflies and Copper Longtails. While they're both tedious however, you're only doing one monotonous thing at each time. Additionally, it boosts your overall XP and also increases your XP gain.

Alternate: Level 33-37

If you'd like a new perspective, you could leave at 33 to begin catching Barb-tailed Kebbits. I'd advise against it, because you'll be returning to Piscatoris in a few levels eventually. But it will make a difference in the stagnation therefore, you can do it.

You can speed up the process by catching Crimson Swifts too. This process is faster than catching butterflies, and Copper Longtails up until level 37. You can choose the method you'd prefer to go with.

Level 37-59+

Personally, I love this part of Hunter training Kebbits! It's the Piscatoris region over the course of the following 20 so levels, so bring a knife, 1000 or more GP and the chisel. The last tool is for fletching Kebbit bolts (it's an option, but is important and simple) should you wish to create some OSRS gold to use as a side.

It's also possible to bring along a birds net or butterfly snare as well as jars, as Kebbits can be quite slow to catch. You could also catch butterflies or copper longtails in the time. Also, remember to take your handheld gear off!

Begin by using Prickly KEBBITS and Deadfalls. There's nothing unique about them. At level 43 you'll have the option of hunting Spotted Kebbits by using falcons. Be sure not to leave the Falconry, or you'll have to pay your 500 GP once more.

At at 57, it's possible to add Dark Kebbits to your list of predators. This will give you a slight exp boost per hour. This technique is much quicker than hunting salamanders of any kind, depending on the region you're in. Personally, I prefer it because I usually have players to have a chat with, making it more entertaining than other methods. If you're interested, you can keep it until you've reached level 80 as I did.

Alternate: Level 59-80

Red salamanders make a great option up to level 67, but not my preferred because of a couple of reasons. One, Ourania Cave is difficult to get to without any teleports. It's usually crowded with the variety of salamanders to be found. Also, you don't get as much experience as might with other methods.

In addition, you won't make any money by catching salamanders. It requires a lot of running. But, as it happens there are some who enjoy this technique. It would be doing you all an injustice if I didn't mention it, at the very.

Bring ropes and nets and nets to Ourania Cave. If you don't have a better option, you can access it with an elevator to the Khazard Battlefield. Setting traps up to 3 or 4 at a time, depending on your skill level and concentration. This technique could yield anything between 50,000 and 100,000 experience points.

You'll have a better time with the help of a Graceful Outfit. I've only attempted it a handful of times, mostly to find out what the hype is about. I've had difficulty taking three traps at the same time in this field. This method is left to better men (or woman) than I.

They are black salamanders that (starting around level 67) provide much higher levels of experience and require less effort. They're found in the Wilderness, North of the Chaos Temple. Bring a torch to increase the number of hours you can exp but you shouldn't have any issues in dealing with Player Killers. If you're being attacked in a different world, try switching it off a few times. Because you don't have anything valuable (right? ) So, you shouldn't be facing any major problems in these areas.

Level 80-99

Red Chinchompas are the best way to go when you're trying to make a huge profits and not have difficulties doing so. Like most players, Chinchompas are one of the most appealing aspects of the Hunter ability due to their high value to Ranged trainers and high market value.

For the best results from this method it is recommended to finish all of the Hard Western Provinces Diary tasks in order to get access to The Red Chinchompa hunting grounds. By doing a little world-hopping, you should be able to discover a few empty worlds and maximize your time.

It's not going to be easy in the same way that all high-level skill training is, but you'll begin to realize high-profit margins straight soon. Hopefully, that will spur your progress!

Alternates: Level 80-99

You can also track Herbiboars in Fossil Island at level 80. It is required that the player finish the Bone Voyage quest, but you can get around 150,000 Hunter XP per hour. This is an estimate because the actual rate could be different, depending on the number of clicks you make. This method also gives you Herblore's XP, and this is an advantage if haven't begun training it yet. Finally, you'll be able to get the Herbi pet by this method.

Another option is to capture Maniacal monkeys. It's an AFK method which is why if you're not into click-intensive ones it's a good learning process, even though it's slow. There's very little gold you can earn by this method as well. Monkey Tails is the main source of GP, and its drop rate is a uncommon 1 in 5000 chance.

Alternate: 73-99

The Black Chinchompa can be seen in the Wilderness with a bit more risk. As a matter of fact, because people are gathered there, it's become a PK hotspot. However, if you risk this method, it's one of the best ways to earn gold from Hunter. Beginning to capture them at the level 73, and then continuing up to 99 can make approximately 125 million OSRS gold. However, training with Red Chinchompas is more stable and reliable.

Alternate: 5-99

You can also perform Birdhouse runs to boost Hunter to 99. It'll take longer, however, you will have time to concentrate on other areas of expertise or tasks. Set an alarm so you'll know when to upgrade your birdhouses. It's possible to make decent earnings from this method also.

Wrap-Up

If you adhere to the OSRS Hunter Guide tips, then that cape with the skills will be yours before you know it! Find the best method for your personality, whether it's the fastest or most profitable. This is the perfect opportunity to test your abilities! Get out and make things happen.
