Hellhounds OSRS : Guide to The Best Strategies to Kill Hellhounds

Comentarios · 81 Puntos de vista

The Hellhounds are a constant in Runescape. They first appeared on the game nearly 20 years ago, and are often assigned as a slayer mission to high and mid-level players. Their most well-known drop - and the only one - is the hard clue scroll. They are among the most trusted sources to obt

There is also a powerful boss monster that can take down instead of regular hellhounds. The boss is called Cerberus is a formidable end-of-level monster that has very costly drops.

In this guide, I'm talking about the typical dog next door hellhound. There's plenty to discuss since players have been preparing strategies to kill the monsters for over 20 years now. An additional note that Hellhounds received an update that rendered many of the guides for the monster somewhat outdated and you should read this guide to get the most current information about how to defeat them efficiently.

The Top Places to Find and kill Hellhounds

Stronghold Slayer Cave Stronghold Slayer Cave - I believe this is among the most effective, if not the most effective, locations to take them down quickly. It's accessible from at the beginning of the game, and there are a lot of Hellhounds that have spawned there. The most appealing thing about this location is that you can shoot the hellhounds here. Cannoning hellhounds in a multi-combat area will be an amazing experience. They are a bit weak defensively and have quite high hit points, therefore you'll be pleased by the amount of experience you'll get within one hour.

Catacomb of Kourend Catacomb of Kourend - This is my absolute favorite spot to kill them without a cannon. There are 9 Hellhounds' spawns here for you to practice on, and it's pretty and AFK if you get it correctly. The primary reason I chose to take them down is that you can find totem pieces and fragments here. It's also not packed here, and setting the agro is easy. Simply run a little beyond the altar in the middle of the catacombs , then return.

Taverley Dungeon Taverley Dungeon - This will be a wonderful trip for those who have been a player of Runescape before. It was here that hellhounds were first introduced to the realm of Runescape. They are easily visible in the rocks and then use a cannon to eliminate them swiftly. The spawns are 13. here which you can eliminate. Don't forget to carry a poison-control potion in case you be poisoned by the spiders that you must run through.

Wilderness Resource Area Wilderness Slayer Cave - I am only going to mention them in the event that you decide to do the wilderness slayer. If you decide to do it chances are that you're going to be confronted with an assignment that's going to require you to kill these. If you own one, you must go to one of these two locations. Be aware that if you are able to use a cannon however, it is likely to be quite risky. If you do die, you're likely to lose a lot of money if you carry tons of cannonballs or pieces.

How Do Hellhounds Drop?

Hellhounds are worth much higher than what they were to be just 19 years ago. But, they're still relatively low in terms of money per kill. They're worth 500-600 coins per kill, on an average. The number of kills that a hellhound can take if you're in the Konar job is 1.5k. This is due to the brimstone keys worth quite a lot of money. They open the chest in front of the master of slayers named Konar.

Vile Ash - These ashes are an attractive new drop. Hellhounds were previously dropping only regular ashes, but that is now they drop 100. They offer 25 prayers whenever you throw them. If you decide to give them away using an demonic offer spell, you will receive 75 experiences. They're worth about 425 coins according to market price. I suggest you leave them on the ground. Picking them up will be a waste of time.

Stone that is smoldering - yes, the hellhounds have an 4.3 mill drop. You shouldn't attempt to grind it. The average is one time every 32 700 kills. It is better to spend the hundreds of hours killing another beast if you wish to earn some money. Stones are also dropped by the boss of hellhounds known as Cerberus. Cerberus drops it at a greater rate of drop. Stones can be used to improve the dragon axe, harpoon and pickaxe.

Hard clue scrolls - They will be your most reliable source for hard clues throughout the game. They are likely to dropping 1 out of 64 kills. These are among the highest numbers you can get on the table. If you can achieve the tough combat you can expect to take about 60 kills. If you take them out in the wild with a ring of wealth (i) then the odds are more favorable to you. If you do, your chances of getting one are one in 32 and 1 in 30 if you achieved the tough combat feats.

Keys for Brimstone - They only drop when you receive hellhounds in a slayer mission from the master of slayers named Konar. They have a 1 in 95 chance of dropping and that's not very bad at all. The keys could give you up to 500k worth of loot in a single day if you are lucky enough.

Strategies for Killing Hellhounds

A major change! Hellhounds are now considered an entity of the demonic. That means anything that affects demons can be used against them. Hellhounds are quite powerful. They're above 120 levels of combat, and they can hit quite high and precisely. Their defense, however, is virtually nonexistent. The ability to kill them using melee and distance is a breeze.

If you are looking to take them down then you must either take them out in one-on-one combat using your most powerful armor and a high-healing food. Another option, and my preferred choice, is to use your protection against melee , and then killing them in multi-combat. The most effective method to accomplish this is to go to Kourend's Catacombs in Kourend. You are likely to be able to eliminate the gruesome creatures quickly, without using a cannon. If you have the cannon, make use of it to allow the job to be completed quickly.

The Killing Hellhounds With Melee

I will explain what the top weapons and armor options are. I will also provide alternatives that could be useful and less expensive if you do not have the top slot equipment.

Head slot - If you're working on a slayer mission then use the slayer helmet (i) as your head slot. This is the most efficient option you can have. If you're not and just want to find out as quickly as you can, you'll require the Neitiznot faceguard. If you don't have the required requirements or funds, a regular helmet of neitiznot could be able to work.

Necklace slot - The most effective type of necklace you could carry here is an amulet of the torture. If you don't have one or an amulet of power or glory can work in this case too.

Cape slot : The most effective cape to bring can be the infernal cape. A fire cape or Ardougne cape is likely to be an excellent alternative if you plan to pray or cause some serious damage.

Chest slot - If aren't fighting them with melee prayer, then you must use the bandos chestplate for the chest armor. If you're fighting them using prayer, then you must use proselyte armor to protect your prayer bones. The bandos chestplate can also add some value to your prayers, so you could use it even when you have prayer tinctures to use.

Legs slot - For this slot it is recommended to make use of bandos tassets to get its prayer and the strength bonus. You also have the option of proselyte legs when you're using the melee prayer. It is still possible to use bandos tassets when praying, since they offer an (small) bonus for prayer.

Weapon slot - This ought to be the most powerful weapon you own. It is essential to have DPS over all other weapons to effectively kill them. The grazier rapier is by far the most effective weapon to take them down. If you're in a tight budget whips are an option to kill them. For completeness the arclight comes similar in comparison to DPS of the Rapier. In the lower levels of strength and attack its DPS is higher than that of a Rapier's. However, I don't believe you should utilize it in this instance. It will result in the waste of a lot of shards which could be better used elsewhere.

Shield slot - This Avernic Defender is going to be a great. It offers massive attack bonuses and ensures you get every hit. It's a costly alternative, so you could make use of a dragon defender or rune one. The hellhounds' defense is low that you shouldn't have any trouble taking them down with less than optimal equipment in this game.

Ranging slot I suggest that you get the blessing of a Rada (4) or another god-given blessing. This will allow you to save some points of prayer while fighting against these beasts. The Ra's Blessing (4) comes with a 2 prayer bonus, which means it's a little better than the standard god scroll, which has a +1 bonus.

Gloves slot - If already have gloves, then the fierce gloves will be the most effective for you. It is also possible to use barrows gloves without problem. Another option that is a good one is the regen bracelet or combat bracelet. They will provide you with the extra bonuses to kill the hellhounds fairly easily.

Boots slot - According to me the boots that are in the beginning are an unnecessary expense when you're in a budget-conscious position. If you have only dragon boots available it is more than enough to spend a great time fighting hellhounds.

Ring slot - There's only one option to choose from. The Berserker rings (i) will provide you with up to two additional max hits that are astounding. If you're in a tight financial situation it is possible to use the warrior ring (i). They work well, too however they are a noticeable drop in the quality of the Berserker ring.

Weapons for special attacks - I believe the most effective weapon to use for those who want to save money or food, is the saradomin god's word. The godsword can heal your hit points by 50 percent of the damage you take during your special attack, and will heal your prayer points will be rewarded with 25 percent of the damage you take when you perform your attack. If you're looking to cause damage, the best choice for you is the dragon claws. They are able to hit the hellhounds extremely brutally. An affordable option that is still excellent according to me, is the dragon dagger.
